GoCardless believes that culture is integral to achieving our overall mission. To create a culture that we’re truly proud of, we know the value of continually educating ourselves on key issues and how tech organisations can lend their support to them. GoCardless has a positive history of championing women and gender equality, and internally we have our Inspiring group which is set up and run entirely by employees who are passionate about equality at GoCardless. In March, GoCardless team members also formed a separate, specific internal group to raise awareness about violence against women. The group undertook a company-wide survey which they then used to highlight how sexual harassment in public places had affected many of our colleague’s lives and led them to alter everyday habits, like walking with keys in their hands to protect themselves.

Over the past 10 years, GoCardless has demonstrated its commitment to creating solutions that help businesses to reduce payment failure and combat fraud. In 2019, we launched the first global network for recurring payments, then, in 2020, we secured funding to accelerate our open banking strategy which led us to create Instant Bank Pay in 2021. Instant Bank Pay allows businesses to take instant, one-off bank-to-bank payments from new and existing customers while still reaping the benefits of bank debit for their recurring payments. GoCardless’ innovations were recently recognised by The Times who called us one of the top 20 UK fintechs.

GoCardless is proud to be supporting Safe Circles’ mission and to be the Gold Sponsor of their first community Hackathon.
